Initially interested in attending medical school, Mr. Jones was later encouraged by a good friend to follow the path to becoming a lawyer. Upon earning an Associate of Arts from Wingate University in 1980, he then secured a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the university in 1982. Soon thereafter, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was admitted to practice law in the state of North Carolina, in 1985.
At the start of his prestigious law career, Mr. Jones worked as an associate of Haynes, Baucom, Chandler, Claytor and Benton in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 1985 to 1987. Consequently, he served as an associate of Parker, Pollard & Brown, P.C., based in Charlotte, for five years, before making partner with Barker and Jones, P.A., in Wilmington, North Carolina, between 1992 and 1998. Furthermore, Mr. Jones found success as the owner and lawyer of his own firm based in Wilmington, Greg Jones Law, P.A., since 1998. As he continued to advance in his profession, he was admitted to practice in the states of South Carolina, Georgia and Texas, as well as the United States District Court for the Western, Eastern, and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States District for the Northern District of Georgia.
A respected individual in the legal field, he has served as a speaker for numerous career-related conventions including “Marketing for Your Practice: The Art of Face to Face Marketing,” and “Ethical Considerations with Social Networking.” Backed by knowledge and experience in his industry, he has authored various publications, including “Marketing for Your Practice: The Art of Face to Face Marketing,” and “Face to Face Marketing: Gain Client Referrals the Old Fashioned Way,” among others. The recipient of the Nation’s Top One Percent and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel Client Distinction Award from Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Jones has been honored as “10 Best in Client Satisfaction,” from the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys and “Top 100 Trial Lawyers,” from the National Trial Lawyers Association, among others. Semi-retired, Mr. Jones plans to continue working with other law firms on pharmaceutical matters.
