As a student, Mr. Riddle attended Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1969. He decided to pursue a career in law, and continued his education at the Texas Tech University School of Law, earning a JD, with honors, in 1972. In the 1970s, Mr. Riddle spent time defending juveniles in difficult circumstances and additionally did some civil rights work. He is proud of the lives he was able to touch during this time in his career. In 1972, he started as an associate at Geary Brice Barron & Stahl, and in 1975, he became a partner at Baker Glast Riddle Tuttle & Elliot.
After spending a decade garnering experience in litigation, banking, and real estate, Mr. Riddle founded Middleburg Riddle Group in 1980, where he continues to work as an attorney and managing partner to this day. At his practice, he focuses on commercial and mortgage banking, handling representation for businesses in regulatory compliance, transactions, and litigation. The firm has been in business for more than 35 years, and Mr. Riddle has been responsible for overseeing the development of computer systems that provide disclosure and documentation services to large-scale national mortgage lenders.
In 2000, Mr. Riddle took on the role of chairman and chief executive officer at MRG Document Technologies, where he remained until 2015. Since 2015, he has acted as the president of Assurity Mortgage Group, in addition to working at his private legal practice. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals of Texas, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Through his career, Mr. Riddle has worked with a variety of organizations, including serving on the board of directors for Provident Bancorp Texas and the U.S.A. Film Festival, among others.
Mr. Riddle is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He cites his law school professors, his co-workers at Geary Brice Barron & Stahl, and his co-workers at Baker Glast Riddle Tuttle & Elliot as mentors in his legal career, and in the coming years, he plans to approach his retirement. As a testament to his stature and success as a legal professional, Mr. Riddle has been included in the 31st edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, the 20th edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and multiple editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in America.
