Elyse Stern, Partner at Stern Law Firm, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership as an attorney and trial lawyer.
Ms. Stern began her higher education at Case Western Reserve University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and earned a Master of Arts in soviet foreign policy from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981. Years later, at 43 years old, she decided to attend law school, because she knew many people who were judges and attorneys who went to school late in life. In addition, her husband was a lawyer, and she was very involved with his work, reading and discussing his cases. Ms. Stern attended the Hofstra University School of Law, graduating with a JD in 2006, and remembers her graduation day as a highlight of her life—her three children were all in attendance, cheering her on. Since earning her law degree, she was licensed to practice law in all New York State courts, as well as the United States Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
In 2007, Ms. Stern started working as an attorney at the Law Office of Alan J. Stern PC, and in 2009, she began as a partner at Stern Law Firm, where she continues to practice to this day. She attributes her success to focus and knowing her priorities. She has enjoyed learning and embracing challenges over the course of her career, and has been recognized for her achievements with multiple awards. In 2006, Ms. Stern received the Advanced Trial Advocacy Award from Hofstra University, and in 2017, she was named to the Outstanding Women in Law by the university. In 2014 and 2015, she was listed as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and in 2015, Super Lawyers listed her in the Top Women Attorneys in New York. In addition to her professional successes, Ms. Stern serves her community with pro bono work and volunteers for United Cerebral Palsy.
