Driven by a fascination in the law that began as a young girl while she watched Perry Mason and the Baldwins, Mrs. Doescher is a highly respected attorney who amassed 39 years of professional experience before retiring in 2015. Her impact on her field is evidenced by the accomplishments she achieved during her tenure, including an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, which is a top honor reserved for professionals who have demonstrated excellence and longevity within their respective industries and professions. Throughout the duration of her career, Mrs. Doescher took on many opportunities that brought her to new facets of the law. From working in the county attorney’s office early on in her career to serving as an insurance litigator to ultimately becoming an arbitration attorney for the American Arbitration Association, Mrs. Doescher delivered on her objectives with integrity, discipline and a direct understanding of what was needed to get the job done.
The American Arbitration Association is a not-for-profit organization in the field of alternative dispute resolution, providing services to individuals and organizations who wish to resolve conflicts out of court. For 13 years, Mrs. Doescher served the association as an arbitrator. In this role, she acted as a neutral party for the purposes of deciding a case in the alternative dispute resolution forum. She collected and reviewed evidence, listened to each party’s case and ultimately made a decision. Mrs. Doescher came to this role after establishing herself as a leader in her field through her previous positions. Notably, she worked as a litigation attorney for State Farm Insurance Co., attorney for the Lommen Nelson Law Firm, litigation manager for Progressive Insurance co., attorney for American Family, attorney for Johnson & Eastlund, an intern for the Hennepin County Attorney and researcher for the Wisconsin Governor’s Manpower Planning Office.
Mrs. Doescher’s expertise in the field of law comes from a combination of her experience, passion, and education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Wisconsin and a JD from the University of Minnesota, which she achieved cum laude in 1981. Over the years she has not only given 100% to her clients, but she has also given back to her industry at large. Mrs. Doescher co-authored “Disposition of Unclaimed Property” in 1983 and she has been a volunteer attorney for the Chrysalis Women’s Center since 1982. She was also very involved with the Minnesota Bar Association and the Ramsey County Bar Association. Looking ahead to the future, Mrs. Doescher intends to enjoy her well-deserved retirement by indulging in her favorite activities, which include biking, skiing, scuba diving, canoeing and working out.
