Prior to entering the field of law, Mr. Nass studied art history at Swarthmore College and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1981. He went on to study law at New York University, where he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1984, after which he began his legal career as an associate at the major law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, in New York City, from 1984 to 1987. They told him that he would be a good fit in their trusts and estates department and he went on to prove them right. From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Nass worked as an associate for Tenzer, Greenblatt, Fallon & Kaplan before he went on to establish his own private practice firm, Herbert E. Nass & Associates, in 1990, at which he currently practices. Throughout his legal career, he remains a member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts organization in New York.
In addition to his career achievements in the field of law, Mr. Nass was the editor in chief of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics from 1983 to 1984 and is the author of “Wills of the Rich and Famous,” published in 2000. Recognized for his professional success, he was named one of the Top 100 Attorneys by Worth Magazine in 2005. He has been a member of the Harmonie Club, the Beach Point Club, and the New York State Bar Association. Furthermore, Mr. Nass has been featured in the 62nd edition of Who’s Who in America, the 4th edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and multiple editions of Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the East.
