Terry Hanna, Counsel of the firm Crowe & Dunlevy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership as a lawyer and business owner.
As a young man, Mr. Hanna served in the United States Army and Air Force and was recognized with an Outstanding Soldier award in 1972. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in statistics and accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1968, and went on to study law at the university, earning a JD in 1972. He continued his education at New York University, earning an LLM in taxation in 1973. During his studies, Mr. Hanna served as an editor of the Oklahoma University Law Review, and after graduation, he worked as a special lecturer from 1974 to 1977.
Starting in 1972, Mr. Hanna became a partner at McAfee & Taft. Prior to his employment, he had a long personal history with the firm—his mother worked there since he was a small boy, and in some sense, he grew up at McAfee & Taft. Mr. Hanna’s mother would pick him up from nursery school during her workday, and Mr. McAfee treated Mr. Hanna like a son. Inspired by his mentor, Mr. Hanna decided to pursue a legal career, and when he graduated from law school, he began working for the firm. He spent eight years as a partner at McAfee & Taft, leaving in 1980 to work as vice president of Arrow Oil & Gas LLC and H.T. Freede Inc.
In 1987, Mr. Hanna began as counsel of Crowe & Dunlevy, where he works to this day. He continued his education, earning a Master of Arts in biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1988, and has served in a variety of professional roles for various companies and organizations. Mr. Hanna has worked as partner and co-owner of The Old Ball Park for 25 years, incorporated manager of J. Jireh & Son LLC, and general partner of Linwood Oil & Gas LP, among several more. He is deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America and has designed patches for both international and national events. Mr. Hanna is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, the Sports Lawyers Association, and the Oklahoma Bar Association, among other organizations.
In addition to his legal endeavors, Mr. Hanna was the drafter of the governor’s trust for those affected by the Oklahoma City bombing, and he drafted the documents for the Oklahoma City Bombing National Park. He has been a member of the International Committee of the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years and served as the United States Delegate to the World Scout Conferences in Paris and Oslo. As a testament to his stature, experience, and success, Mr. Hanna has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
