Driven by his father’s encouragement and by his own personal interest in law, Mr. Kelleher decided to pursue law as a profession. Upon the completion of high school, he attended LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1980. Three years later, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence with cum laude honors from The University at Buffalo School of Law in 1983. Consequently, he was admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District of New York in 1984. Soon thereafter, he became certified to practice law in the State of Florida in 1995.

Moreover, Mr. Kelleher accepted the position of partner with the firm Morgan & Morgan in Orlando, Florida, between 1996 and 2016. He went on to flourish as the founding partner of his own firm, The Kelleher Firm, since 2016. In addition to his primary career endeavors, he served on the executive committee with Morgan & Morgan, for 15 years. Civically, Mr. Kelleher was involved with Ava Maria School of Law a member of the board of trustees, a trustee for the Gregorian Foundation, the chairman of the Capital Campaign for the St. John Newman High School, and a past board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Mr. Kelleher attributes his success to having great mentors throughout his career. Several lawyers taught him important aspects of running a business such as being personable and relating to the needs of clients. To remain abreast of developments in the field, Mr. Kelleher maintains professional relationships with the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the New York State Bar, the American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association, the Collier County Bar Association, the Lee County Bar Association, the National Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Inns of Court. For his accomplishments in the field, he was named Lawyer of the Year by the Georgia Trial Lawyers Political Action Committee, awarded the bronze, silver, and golden eagle awards from the Florida Justice Association, and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the country by the National Trial Lawyers Association for four years. Likewise, he was selected for inclusion in editions of Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
