Growing up, Mr. Swindell was enamored by the profession of law by watching the television show “Perry Mason.” Upon watching this show, it informed his decision to want to become a lawyer throughout the entirety of his adolescence. That same year, Mr. Swindell started as an associate at the DC-based firm, Repetti, Deerin, Murphy & Evans. He garnered experience in the profession at the firm until 1981, briefly joining Equity Programs Investment Corporation Acceptance Corporation as an assistant general counsel before becoming a vice president and general counsel at the company. From 1985 to 1988, Mr. Swindell worked as an associate at Moore & Van Allen, and made partner in 1988. He spent a few more years at the firm before becoming a founding partner at Fennebresque, Clark, Swindell & Hay in 1993. He remained at this firm until 1999, when he became a partner at McGuire Woods. In 2003, he established his own firm, which now conducts business as Swindell & Visalli, PLLC. He continues to serve and actively engage with his clients in various legal matters at this firm.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Swindell has also helped prepare future generations of legal professionals as a lecturer for the Northwest Center for Professional Education, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and CLE International.
