Christopher Patrick Ford, Attorney at the Law Office of Christopher Patrick Ford, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal profession.
Mr. Ford began his education at Kalamazoo College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and anthropology in 1978. He then attended the Emory University School of Law and earned a JD in 1981, and was admitted to practice law by the Illinois State Bar Association that same year. Later in 1981, Mr. Ford began his legal career as an associate at Conklin & Adler in Chicago. In 1982, he transitioned to Hofeld and Schaffner, where he also worked as an associate. He credits Howard Schaffner for acting as a mentor and helping him grow as a lawyer. In 1986, he left Hofeld and Schaffner to open his own private practice, the Law Office of Christopher Patrick Ford.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Ford has won several high-profile cases for working families. Among his most notable is the case of Janatik v. Advocate Health Care Network, et al., in which he had to battle an extremely short deadline to help a victim of medical malpractice. After uncovering evidence of record tampering, the jury returned a verdict of over $17.5 million. When Mr. Ford’s son was young, he drew a coat of arms for his father’s law office, which read “Justice, Truth, and Hard Work.” Mr. Ford carries these values with him in his law practice, choosing to represent individuals rather than corporations, fighting to secure justice for working-class families. As a testament to his success as an attorney, he was a featured listee in the 10th edition Who’s Who in American Law.
