When Mr. Salvadore entered Brown University, World War II just ended and he was 17 years-old starting out as a freshman taking pre-engineering courses. He knew that he was facing the draft, so when he turned 18 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for two years. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he decided to become a lawyer. Mr. Salvadore went through the electronic technician program in the Navy and passed but he noticed that he had to study, while other people around him did not study. This led him to the realization that he would be better off being a lawyer instead of an electronic technician. Although the training through the U.S. Navy was helpful, he decided to return to Brown University and become a lawyer. Mr. Salvadore earned an AB from Brown University in 1951 and an LLB from Harvard University in 1954. After graduating, he received admission to practice law in the state of Rhode Island in 1954, the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island in 1955, the federal and state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Mr. Salvadore is very proud that he can say no one has ever paid him to be a lawyer, whatever he earned, he earned through his own practice. He started out as a partner for Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney in 1955, where he remained until 1990. While with the firm, in 1970, a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, which was built in 1912 for 1.2 million dollars, came on the market because it was being foreclosed. He had a client that wanted it and they succeeded in acquiring it. Many years later, his client was able to sell it for 17 million dollars. It was the largest residential sale in Rhode Island and he is proud that he played a part in the case. In 1990, Mr. Salvadore moved on to the firm Salvadore & Salvadore as an attorney and he remained there until 1996. He left that firm to open his own office in 1996, the Law Offices of Guido R. Salvadore, Esq., where he remains an attorney to this day.

As a testament to his success, Mr. Salvadore has been inducted as a member of various esteemed organizations including, the American Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Association, the University Club, the Metacomet Country Club, and the Brown Faculty Club. He is also a former member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now called The American Association for Justice and a former member of the Association of American Trial Lawyers. Mr. Salvadore has spent his spare time as a director and vice president of the Rhode Island Grand Opera Co. since 1985. He was also the director and president of the Great American Nursing Center, Inc. from 1969 to 1990.
