Title: Managing Member
Company: Featherstone DeSisto LLC
Location: Denver, Colorado, United States

Bruce Featherstone, Managing Member of Featherstone DeSisto LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in litigation, antitrust and trial law.

Between wanting to be a journalist and wanting to be a lawyer, Mr. Featherstone was torn. He found after spending time with Detroit News and another paper in the Detroit area that he enjoyed covering the courts and political beats. The role of reporter was one of observer and not of participant and back in the 1970s, that was the view he had. He wanted to be more of a participant and that abetted his decision to go into law. The other motivating factor was as a litigator getting the diversity of experiences he had with industries, different people, different clients, different parts of the country. Litigating the cases and learning the facts were things he experienced and fortunate to have had in his career.

Mr. Featherstone first earned Bachelor of Arts cum laude with distinction in economics from Yale University in 1974. He later received a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1977. That same year, he joined as an associate lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis, making partner at the firm in 1983. He continued garnering experience and representing his clients until 1996. In that year, he opened the predecessor to his own firm, Featherstone & Shea, and served as a managing partner. His firm, Featherstone DeSisto LLC as it exists now, was established in 2013. He is proud of his ability to take what he learned from big firms and start his own successful one for himself and others.

As a testament to his skills and experience, Mr. Featherstone is AV-Rated from Martindale-Hubbell and is also ranked among Colorado Super Lawyers. Throughout his career, he has maintained professional affiliation with the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the Denver Bar Association and the Order of Coif. Mr. Featherstone is also known for his work as the articles editor of the University of Michigan Law Review from 1976 to 1977 and as the dean of alumni relations and development committee with the university.
