Mrs. Welch prepared for a career in law by pursuing and completing her education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Speech from Marietta College in 1994 followed by a JD from Capital University in 1998. From there, she became admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio and established herself in the legal field with Howard M. Hackman Co. LPA, a personal injury law firm. Upon working in this area of law for one year, Mrs. Welch transitioned to family law as she felt her empathetic nature would bode better working to help families. To support her career, Mrs. Welch has been a member of several prominent industry organizations including the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Columbus Bar and the International Association of Rainbow Girls. She is also affiliated with the Central Ohio Association of Juvenile Lawyers, where she previously served as its secretary.

In recognition of her professional excellence in her career, Mrs. Welch earned the honor of “Top Ten Family Firms” in 2018. Considered an expert in her field, she has applied her insights of family dynamics to local organizations in her community. She has volunteered her time to legal aid clinics in Ohio and served on committees for the Olentangy School District, including the citizen’s advisory committee. The most gratifying part of her career is seeing the long-term impact that her work has on children. Often, she reconnects with the parents and feels great joy to hear that the kids are doing great.
