Originally intending to become a professor of philosophy, Mr. Kennedy’s professor at Morehead State University was instrumental in his changing his direction and proceeding to law. Professor D. Acres was a political administrator and professor of political science as well as the Secretary of the Constitutional Division of the Commonwealth. After earning an AB from Morehead State University in 1965, he received a Master of Arts in education at the institution in 1968. He continued his pursuit of law by earning a JD at the University of Akron in 1969. Furthermore, Mr. Kennedy received an LLM from George Washington University in 1974. He was admitted to the state bar of Ohio in 1969.
Since 1986, Mr. Kennedy has contributed his decades of experience as a partner at his current firm. He previously served as partner of Kauffman, Eberhart, Cicconetti & Kennedy Co. from 1972 to 1986. Prior to that, he was with the office of general counsel with the Foreign Agriculture and Special Programs division with the US Department of Agriculture. Earlier in his career, he was a teacher with the Triway Local School District. In his career, he has maintained professional affiliation with the American Bar Association, the Wayne County Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Justice, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American College of Barristers, the American Association of Justice, the Federal Bar Association, the Lions Club, the Exchange Club, Elks, Phi Delta Kappa and Phi Alpha Delta.
