Paul Pedigo, Managing Attorney of the Pedigo Law Firm PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in intellectual property law.
For prospective intellectual property law professionals, Mr. Pedigo offers the following advice which has served him throughout his career. Intellectual property attorneys are best served, and can best serve their clients, by obtaining, over their lifetimes, as broadly based an education as possible, well grounded in the arts, sciences, literature, and engineering. The same is true for their legal education. The more the person learns to think like a lawyer, no matter the legal field, the more effective they will be practicing in intellectual property. Mr. Pedigo certainly has a broad background, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, philosophy and anthropology from Vanderbilt University in 1976. He continued at the institution to receive a BEChE in chemical engineering in 1980. He later earned a JD from Loyola University in 1985. Over the course of his legal career, he has been able to pull in all of this experience to provide his clients the highest quality of service.
Mr. Pedigo has been the managing attorney at his firm since 2009, and brought to this role decades of experience. He previously served as a partner of Summa, Additon & Ashe, P.A., as a group leader in chemical and pharmaceutical solicitation with Alston & Bird LLP, as a partner with Bell, Seltzer, Park & Gibson, P.A. and as an associate of Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd. Mr. Pedigo has written a number of significant patents, among them, several are in the field of polyethylene glycol chemistry that have become blockbuster drugs earning over one billion dollars a year in annual sales, including one described in U.S. Patent No. 5,932,462, a pegylated alpha interferon sold under the brand name PEGASYS®, a trademark of Hoffman-LaRoche. He is an AV-rated attorney.
