John Wigmore, retired partner at Pillsbury, Madison, and Sutro, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in litigation.
With more than 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Wigmore retired in 1990, having been a partner with Pillsbury, Madison, and Sutro since 1986. Prior to obtaining this role, he held a number of positions with Lawler, Felix, and Hall, including partner from 1963 to 1986 and associate from 1958 to 1962. Earlier in his career, he was a geologist with Western Geophysical from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Wigmore began his career as a student at Stanford University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in geology in 1949. He then joined the United States Navy, serving as an officer from 1950 to 1953. He then returned to his studies with the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Juris Doctor in 1958.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. Wigmore has been an active leader in his community. A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation, he is a member of the American Bar Association and the California State Bar. He has also been affiliated with the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Business Trial Lawyers, and Barristers. He has also been named a trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, and he has participated in various local and state election campaigns.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wigmore has been recognized for his contributions. He has received awards and accolades for his achievements. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West.
