Inspired by a long generation of lawyers in his family, Mr. Suhr knew from a young age that he wanted to work as an attorney. To become successful, he demonstrated perseverance and a hard work ethic that quickly brought him to prominence when he established his career 15 years ago. Today, he finds success as a partner of Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough, LLP, in Charlotte, NC. The firm is known as the 87th largest legal practice in the nation and provides a full range of services for matters of litigation, corporate, securities, finance, banking, mergers and acquisitions, financial services, healthcare, technology, intellectual property, labor and employment, government relations, regulatory, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, immigration, and international law. Further, he was named one of the Best Lawyers in America in the areas of securitization and structured finance. In addition to these accolades, a great point of pride for Mr. Suhr was receiving an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest peer review rating possible.
To prepare for a career in the legal field, Mr. Suhr earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in 1988 followed by a JD from the Washington College of Law from American University in 1992. He continues to share his expertise within his industry through his work with the North Carolina Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Mecklenburg Bar Association. As he looks to the future, he intends to continue in his work as an attorney while taking on the opportunity to train and mentor young associates within the firm.
