Robert Kahrl, JD. LPC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
For Mr. Kahrl, being an attorney is about finding solutions that are perfect for a client’s need – it is not all about “winning” in the courtroom. By taking this dynamic approach to his work as a lawyer, he has met with tremendous success over more than 40 years. His ability to analyze and organize facts has also helped him establish his reputation of excellence throughout the Cleveland, OH, region. Now retired, he spends his time as a licensed professional counselor throughout the state of Ohio, focusing on his area of expertise: intellectual property. In addition, since 2010, Mr. Kahrl has served as a distinguished residence practitioner for the University of Akron School of Law. Before retiring, he found success as a partner and practice leader for the intellectual property practice area of Jones Day in Cleveland. He held this role for 17 years, having previously served the practice prior its merger as an associate, then partner, of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.
Mr. Kahrl prepared for his career by first investing his time and efforts into his education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1968, followed by an MBA and JD from Ohio State University in 1975. Throughout his career, he has remained at the top of his field through his involvement with the Ohio State Bar Association, for which he served as chairman of the intellectual property section. In addition, he affiliated with the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Order of Coif and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Mr. Kahrl’s insights and expertise can be accessed through his written works, which includes the second edition of “Patent Claim Construction,” and the second edition of “Thesaurus of Claim Construction.”
In his retirement, Mr. Kahrl intends to continue contributing to his professional industry while indulging in his favorite hobbies, which includes playing the piano, exercising, swimming, playing golf, and working on high-performance automobiles.
