Prior to obtaining his current role, he was cochair of toxic tory and a partner with Thompson Coburn, LLP and its predecessor firms from 1983 to 2012, and an associate with Coburn Croft and Putzell from 1980 to 1983 and with Bergson, Borkland, Margolis, and Adler from 1976 to 1980. Earlier in his career, he was a law clerk to the Honorable John F. Grady in 1976 and an associate with Schwartz and Freeman in 1975.
Mr. Cornfeld began his career as a student at the University of Michigan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1972. He continued his studies with Northwestern University, earning a Juris Doctor in 1975. He has been admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the states of Missouri and Illinois, as well as before the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Northern District of Illinois.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. Cornfeld has been an active leader in his community. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar, the DC Bar, and the Order of the Coif. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
