Jeffrey Kilgore, Lawyer, Mediator and Arbitrator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in dispute resolution, family mediation, civil law, personal injury and probate real estate.
Mr. Kilgore entered his profession because he always had a desire to work with people and help his clients as a trial lawyer. In his career, many of Mr. Kilgore’s cases were as court-appointed. He took these cases very seriously, knowing his clients did not have the resources to hire their own arbitrator. Mr. Kilgore is also proud of the work he did in representing families during his time working court cases regarding tort-benzene leukemia toxicity. He has practiced law for more than 46 years and has run his private practice since 1973. In recognition of his contributions to his clients and to the public, he was named an Outstanding Lion of the Irving Chapter of Lions and has received the President Award from Kiwanis, as well as several trophies in sailing.
In pursuit of a career in law, Mr. Kilgore first earned a Bachelor of Arts in banking and finance from the University of North Texas in 1970. He continued at the University of Houston, earning a JD at the institution in 1973. He later received a graduate certificate in dispute resolution from the C.T. Bauer College of Business Executive Education. He was admitted to the state bar of Texas in 1973, and was later admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States District Court for the Southern Districts of Texas. He has maintained professional affiliation with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Texas State Bar Association, the Galveston County Bar Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Association of Attorney Mediators among other organizations.
Mr. Kilgore’s responsibilities in law focus on helping people with writing wills, simple trusts, and probate matters. In addition, he provides his services with the local bar association when they conduct the veterans law day two-to-four times a year. On a civic level, Mr. Kilgore has served on the board of directors with the Trinity Episcopal Church and as a vestry with the St. Mark Episcopal Church. He has been featured among several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who in the World.
