Edward Clinton, lawyer in private practice, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance law.
With nearly 65 years of professional experience, Mr. Clinton has been in private practice since 1992. Prior to establishing his own firm, he was a partner with Keck, Mahin and Cate from 1965 to 1992 and with Hough, Young and Coale from 1957 to 1965. Earlier in his career, he was with the Illinois State Department securities department from 1956 to 1957 and an associate with Schultz and Biro from 1955 to 1956. Mr. Clinton always had the desire as a child to work as an attorney. Later on, when he was with a large law firm which merged with another, his practice extended naturally to include business law.
Mr. Clinton began his career as a student at DePaul University, completing coursework from 1949 to 1950. He continued his studies with John Marshall Law School, earning a Juris Doctor in 1953. He then joined the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. He has been admitted to practice in the state of Illinois as well as before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States District for the Northern District of Illinois.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. Clinton has been an active leader in his community. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Lawyers Association, the Bar Association of the 7th Circuit, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois Bar Association. He has also been affiliated with Evanston Golf Club, the Executives Club of Chicago, the Union League Club, the Lawyers Club of Chicago, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. In his career, he led the Children’s Care Foundation, a multi-million-dollar charity.
