David Dunlap, Partner at Jackson Walker LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
With 45 years of professional experience, Mr. Dunlap has been a partner with Jackson Walker LLP since 1990. Prior to obtaining his current role, he was a partner with Dotson and Scofield from 1984 to 1990 and with Foreman and Dyess from 1981 to 1984. Earlier in his career, he was an associate with Foreman, Dyess, Prewett, Rosenberg, and Henderson from 1974 to 1981. Mr. Dunlap’s grandfather, Joseph Graydon Dunlap, was an attorney, as well as his great uncle, O.D. Montgomery, so his family history of working in law and arbitration inspired him to follow in their footsteps.
Mr. Dunlap began his career as a student at the University of Texas, where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1971. He continued his studies with the school, earning a Juris Doctor in 1974. He has been admitted to practice in the state of Texas, and he is board certified in oil, gas, and mineral law. Through Mr. Dunlap’s civic involvement, he enjoys giving back to the city of Houston, especially for the homeless, and to families in need of services and education. These organizations include the Family Services Foundation, the Covenant House of Texas, Lord of the Streets Episcopal Mission among several other civic groups.
