Thomas with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio from 1975 to 1977.
Interested in law and public policy from a formative age, Mr. Laurenson pursued formal education at Amherst College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1972. He subsequently attended Yale University, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1975. He has since been admitted to practice law in Ohio, New York, Massachusetts and California, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Having penned several book chapters and articles on the SEC’s custody rule under the Investment Advisers Act, Mr. Laurenson has also lent his time to the study of theology and philosophy, having served the “Zygon: Journal of Religion of Science” as a member of its publication board since 2013. In recognition of his service, he was honored with the Service Award from the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science in 2006. Likewise, he was featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law.
