Jay MacIntosh, Attorney and Actor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Attorneys for dedication, achievements, and leadership in employment law, wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation law.
Ms. MacIntosh has lead her career by following her interests. With passion for the dramatic arts and for practicing law, she has worked in both realms. She originally pursued her acting career, first earning a BFA in speech and drama at the University of Georgia in 1961. A year later, she received a Master of Arts in drama from the institution. After working in television throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she saw the value the legal profession could have and received a JD from the Whittier Law School in 1999. She was admitted to the State Bar of California, the US District Court, Central District and the Ninth Circuit of US Court of Appeals in 2000. Upon earning a JD, she has provided her services in private practice.
While acting on such shows as the ABC Afterschool Specials, the Waltons, Dallas, and Barnaby Jones, and such movies as Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Elvis and The Beauty Queen, Ms. MacIntosh was also a real estate broker for Merrill Lynch Realty. She had started her career in academia, teaching at Brenau University and then Gainesville College. As a lawyer, she has been included in Super Lawyers on several occasions.
Believing that rough seas make good sailors, Ms. MacIntosh has felt she has seen most of her professional growth develop by forging ahead and following through. She is proud of earning a law degree at age 62, a feat not many people would set out to do. She is also proud of being elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. MacIntosh has maintained professional affiliation with the California Bar Assocaition, the Actors Studio, the Screen Actors Guild, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences, Women in Film and Phi Kappa Phi.
