Allan Hyman, Lawyer and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in imminent domain, real estate, zoning and land use law.
Growing up, Mr. Hyman watched his father try cases in the courtroom and saw the value and respectability he had garnered in the career. This early brush with the legal profession later swayed his academic pursuits when he was at Syracuse University studying the liberal arts. In 1962, he graduated from the institution with a Bachelor of Arts and found himself following in his father’s footsteps by earning a JD from St. John’s University in 1965. That same year, he was admitted to the bar in New York, and later was admitted to the South and Eastern Districts of the US District Court of New York, the Second Circuit of the US Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court.
Mr. Hyman is currently a partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, a roll he has held since 1988. He previously served as partner at Costigan, Hyman, Hyman & Herman from 1980 to 1987 and was partner of Hyman & Hyman from 1972 to 1980. Going further back, Mr. Hyman was partner at Koeppel, Hyman, Sommer, Lesnick & Ross and Hyman & Deeley. He started his career as an associate at Warburton, Hyman, Deeley & Connolly from 1965 to 1967. In addition to these roles, he served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University and as a lecturer at Adelphia University. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Institute of Property Taxation and has previously served as on the Board of Trustees for the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System.
