Hon. Paul M. Glenn, JD, Bankruptcy Judge at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal industry.
Hon. Judge Glenn knew from a formative age that he wanted to delve into the legal profession, which he has attributed to the positive influences of lawyers he witnessed as a child. Attending Florida State University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1967, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Duke University in 1970. Subsequent to earning his law degree, he served as an associate and shareholder for Mahoney, Hadlow & Adams, P.A., from 1970 to 1981, thus transitioning to president and chief executive officer of Mobile America Corporation and its subsidiaries from 1981 to 1985.
Thereafter, Hon. Judge Glenn served as a shareholder at Bledsoe, Schmidt & Glenn, P.A., from 1985 to 1987 and an executive vice president and chief administrative officer for the Dependable Insurance Group of America, Inc., and its subsidiaries from 1987 to 1988. Acting as a shareholder for Dale & Bald from 1989 to 1993, he began serving as a bankruptcy judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, a role he has held since 1993.
Alongside his primary career endeavors, Hon. Judge Glenn was a guest lecturer at the University of Florida, Stetson University and the Florida Coastal School of Law. Likewise, he has spoken at seminars within the United States and abroad in Hungary and Canada. A contributing editor for the “Norton Handbook for Bankruptcy Trustees” and “Debtors in Possession,” he has also served on the budget committee for the Judicial Conference of the United States from 2013 to 2017, on the national board of trustees for the American Inns of Court Foundation in 2010, and on myriad committees for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Additionally, he has maintained affiliation with the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the American College of Bankruptcy and the American Bankruptcy Institute, among several other organizations.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the legal industry, Hon. Judge Glenn has been honored with multiple accolades. Most recently winning the Distinguished Service Award from the Bankruptcy Inn Alliance, American Inns of Court and the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in 2014, he also received the Robert W. Patton Outstanding Jurist Award from the Hillsborough County Bar Association in 2007. Furthermore, he was presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Association of Domestic Insurance Companies in 1984 and has been highlighted in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in American Politics, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
