Drawing upon decades of industry experience, Mr. Digati is a prominent figure in the field of law. Having been influenced by lawyers as a young adult, his interest was sparked in law and in seeking justice for those who needed it most. He commenced his career as a student at various schools where he completed undergraduate coursework, including St. Francis Preparatory School, St. John’s University and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. In 1962, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Brooklyn Law School and was subsequently admitted to the New York State Bar Association the same year. Later on in his career, he was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1975.
For many years, Mr. Digati has been serving as a lawyer at his own private firm, Philip A. Digati, P.A., where he focuses his practice on probate administration, guardianship administration, real estate, corporate law and personal injury, among many other transactional facets of the law. Prior to this appointment, he served a number of insurance companies as trial counsel, such as Royal Globe Insurance Company, Pioneer Title Insurance Company, All State Insurance Company, GEICO and Empire Mutual Insurance Company, as well as other insurance companies throughout New York and Florida. To share his wealth of knowledge with his community, he has spoken at multiple legal seminars across the country.
Prior to delving into law, Mr. Digati served with the United States Army Naval Reserve from 1951 to 1952, the United States Army National Guard from 1952 to 1954, and the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. In his spare time, he lends his considerable expertise to his church and community, where he participates in Catholic Church fundraisers, charitable organizations, and pro bono legal services for the indigent. Formerly, he was a Eucharist minister for the Nativity Catholic Church in Hollywood, FL, as well as lay director for the Catholic Cursillo Movement in the Archdioceses of Miami.
Mr. Digati attributes his significant success to his parents, who raised him in a productive and loving environment, and his fortunate educational opportunities. In an effort to remain abreast of recent developments within the field, he maintains affiliation with numerous organizations, including the New York State Bar Association, the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association, the Columbian Lawyers Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association. Civically, he has remained a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion and the Optimates Society, among others.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Digati is the proud father of two children, Elizabeth and Matthew. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue practicing law and be of service to his clients, church and community.
