Mr. Saavedra commenced his career as a student at Arizona State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in computer networking, magna cum laude. Thereafter, he attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence. While attending law school, he was a judicial intern for Judge Garcia of the Maricopa County Superior Court. Likewise, he served as a legal intern at the Veteran’s Administration Office of General Counsel in Phoenix. He has been admitted before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and the Arizona Supreme Court.
Prior to delving into the field of law, Mr. Saavedra served 11 years in the United States Army, where he worked in the telecommunications industry. Stationed in Germany and Fort Bragg, NC, he was also deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iraq. Ascending the ranks to staff sergeant, he notably visited Hillah, Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
Throughout his career, Mr. Saavedra has maintained affiliation with numerous organizations, including Disabled American Veterans, where he is a lifetime member, and the Hispanic Bar Association, where he served as a region XIV president in Arizona and Nevada. Also affiliated with the Maricopa County Bar Association, he has participated in a number of civic duties, having been named a fellow of Leading for Change and graduate of Valle Del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute in 2014. In addition, he has been a pro bono attorney for the Medical-Legal Partnership and a graduate of the Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to law, Mr. Saavedra was named a Lawyer of Distinction in 2017 and has maintained an AV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University honored him with a Justice for All Award in 2015, and the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys presented him with a Top 10 Attorney Award in 2016. The recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Property, he was listed in Top 40 Under 40 by the American Society of Legal Advocates and Civil Plaintiff in 2016.
