Bradford P. Lyerla, Esq., Partner at Jenner & Block, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
Partner at Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago for the past eight years, Mr. Lyerla represents clients in patent and trade secret litigation and counsels on issues related to competition and intellectual property disputes. He also serves as the co-chair of the firm’s patent litigation and counseling practice and is a member of the antitrust and competition law practice. Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Lyerla upheld his own private practice for 12 years, where he specialized in anti-trust and intellectual property litigation. He was also an associate attorney at his current firm in Chicago between 1980 and 1998 and was a trial lawyer in Chicago in 1980.
Mr. Lyerla holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Illinois. Mr. Lyerla has tried numerous cases and has often has argued appeals representing a host of companies over the years. He has been responsible for resolving numerous disputes through negotiated business arrangements or summary dispositions in court, has been involved in litigation representing a wide variety of technologies, including life sciences, applied mathematics and communications, and has led and co-led numerous Paragraph IV litigations.
Mr. Lyerla is an elected fellow and lifetime member of the American Bar Foundation. He is a longtime member of several other professional organizations where he also served in various roles, including the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago, the University Club of Chicago, and two fraternities.
