Specializing in land use, personal injury, negligence, contract fraud and construction litigation, he is renowned for his ability to take specialized care of each case with utmost ethics, knowledge and professionalism. Prior to this role, he served as partner at Corretti, Newsom & Rogers in Birmingham, AL. He commenced his career as a clerk to the Honorable Robert S. Vance with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Brockway pursued formal education at Lehigh University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business and economics in 1973. Thereafter, he attended Cumberland School of Law, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 1976. Affiliated with the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Florida State Bar, the Washington D.C. Bar, and the Birmingham Bar Association, he has additionally remained associated with Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma and the Order of the Banisters.
Although he has dedicated much of his life to legal work, Mr. Brockway retains the most passion for The Power of One “We the People” Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the civil rights and liberties of civilians through education, advocacy and reform. As the founder and chief executive officer of the foundation, Mr. Brockway believes in the need to effectuate change on social issues which aren’t receiving proper attention through traditional organizations or means. One such social issue is the rising rate of deaths at traffic stops. Through his organization, Mr. Brockway is implementing a program developed to educate the public and law enforcement on proper behavior at traffic stops in an effort to decrease tension, making situations less susceptible to miscalculations.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Brockway was named to the Top 5 Percent of America’s Most Honored Professionals in 2016 and 2017. In addition, he is a member of Lawyers of Distinction. Looking toward the future, he intends to transition to working for his non-profit foundation on a full-time basis.
