Daniel B. Ritter, Retired Partner at Davis, Wright Tremaine LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal industry.
Drawing upon more than four decades of experience, Mr. Ritter is a prominent lawyer who most recently served as partner at Davis, Wright Tremaine LLP, formerly known as Davis, Wright and Jones, from 1969 until his retirement in 2006. Prior to this illustrious role, he was an associate with the firm from 1963 to 1969. While fulfilling these positions, he also served the firm as chairman of the banking department from 1986 to 1989 and chairman of the international department from 1984 to 1985. He has further been a lecturer for Bar Review Associates in Seattle, WA, from 1964 to 1986.
Mr. Ritter holds a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Washington, where he served as a casenote editor for the University of Washington Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He has been admitted to practice law in the state of Washington, as well as before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Ritter has additionally lent his time and expertise to written works, having been the editor-in-chief of the “Washington Revised Article 9 Desk Book” in 2003 and contributing author of the “Washington Commercial Law Desk Book” in 1982 and “Washington Community Property Desk Book” in 1977. He maintains membership with the Washington State Bar Association, where he has been on the uniform commercial code committee since 1980, as well as the Seattle-King County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Rainier Club.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Ritter has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in the World.
