Michael Patrick Regan, Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil and criminal law.
Mr. Regan always had a knack for helping others, and he believes that growing up as a quiet boy who mostly spoke up to stick up for others eventually led to his calling in law. Drawn to the field because it allowed him to defend and mediate for others, Mr. Regan first earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1963. He continued at Union University, receiving an LLB in 1967 and then a JD in 1968. Early in his career in law in Albany, New York, he first worked at the Bureau of Corporations of the New York State Secretary of State’s Office reviewing and approving legal documents for New York corporations and he then worked as an associate of Medwin & McMahon and as an assistant district attorney for Albany County, New York. He also had political involvements, serving as the President of the Town of Coeymans Republican Club in the late 1960s, and as the Republican candidate for the Albany County Treasurer in 1968. From 1969 to 1974, Mr. Regan served as a corporate attorney for the Fortune 500 manufacturer Mohasco Corporation at its corporate headquarters in Amsterdam, New York. He has also served as attorney for Dan River Inc. from 1975–1989 at its executive offices in Danville, VA. In 1990, he opened the doors to his private general practice firm, where he continues to serve his clients and community, primarily in consumer and small business Federal Court bankruptcies and financial reorganizations, domestic relations and criminal defense.
With an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Regan ensures his clients are in the best hands when they step into his office. He also is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Danville.
