Nicholas Suhr, Esq., Retired Lawyer and Freelance Writer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Law.
Mr. Suhr is a veteran lawyer whose distinguished career in law lasted almost 50 years. Most recently, he worked as a private practice lawyer from 2000 to 2015. Prior to this, Mr. Suhr had been a partner at several firms, including Chase, Kurshan, Suhr, Weidenfeld, Herzfeld & Rubin, LLC; Herzfeld & Rubin P.C.; and Quinn & Suhr. In addition, he worked as an arbitrator for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1985 to 2008, and as a qualified arbitrator for the New Jersey Superior Court from 2000 to 2010.
His mother was one of the first female lawyers in the state of New York. She was one of only two women from the 1934 graduating class of Columbia Law School, and Mr. Suhr practiced with her until her retirement in 1973. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts. Originally going to school with the intention of becoming a doctor, he soon gained an interest in becoming a lawyer. He received a JD from American University in 1967. He has been a member of both the New Jersey and New York State Bar Associations. Now in his retirement, Mr. Suhr is a freelance writer who writes theater reviews. He finds great pleasure in writing about something he is interested in, rather than writing about the problems of others.
