Drawn to the field of law at an early age, Mr. Cashman first earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Queens College in 1965. He continued his academic journey at Columbia Law School, receiving a LLB in 1968. He was admitted to practice in New York State in 1969 and later admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the United State Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Second Circuit and Ninth Circuit. He is also admitted to practice with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and for the Northern Southern and Western districts of the state. Mr. Cashman also has held Bar Association leadership positions, including Chair of the Executive Committee and Vice President of the New York City Bar Association. Martindale-Hubbell has recognized him with its Preeminent Rating through the years.
