Kevin O’Connell, Lawyer and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in antitrust law.
Named one of the Best Lawyers in America, Mr. O’Connell is known for his work with antitrust law and business litigation. He started as an associate of O’Melveny & Myers in 1960, and became an assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California in 1963. Then, between 1965 and 1966, he was selected to be a member of the staff counsel for the Governor of California Commission to Investigate Watts Riot. The experience propelled him to positions like partner of Tuttle & Taylor, partner of Coleman & O’Connell, owner of his own private practice, of counsel of Simon & Sheridan, associate professor of law at the University of Southern California Law School, and partner of Manatt, Phelps & Philips. He decided to step back from the field in 2018, and is now lending his knowledge to his peers as a consultant.
Mr. O’Connell prepared for his endeavors by earning a Bachelor of Arts and a JD from Harvard University in 1955 and 1960, respectively. While there, he served on the board of editors of the Harvard Law Review and as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. O’Connell is permitted to practice in the state of California. To keep in touch with his professional community, he joined prominent organizations like the Pacific Council on International Policy, the American Law Institute, and the California Supreme Court Historical Society. As a testament to his hard work and dedication, he was featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the West.
