Carl D. Savely, Esq., General Counsel at Wingfield Nevada Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
Mr. Savely is a respected figure in the legal industry who has amassed 30 years of professional experience. Currently serving as general counsel at Wingfield Nevada Group since 2005, he commenced his career as a partner at Lionel, Sawyer & Collins from 1988 to 2005.
Originally delving into the field of geology, Mr. Savely attended Adams State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in geology and environmental science in 1976. However, in the mid-1980s, the oil and mining industry was collapsing, which resulted in the mass layoff of 3,000 geologists. Deciding to pursue the field of law instead, Mr. Savely believed that it was the only way he would remain involved with the natural resource field. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the California Western School of Law in 1988.
In an effort to remain abreast of recent developments within the industry, Mr. Savely maintains affiliation with several professional societies, including the Nevada Water Resource Association, the Colorado State Bar, the Nevada State Bar, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, among others. He attributes his success to his experience being raised with the belief that you must do your best with your innate abilities. Looking toward the future, he hopes to experience the continued growth of his career while reaching retirement.
