Mr. Rose is an acclaimed figure in the field of law who has amassed more than 40 years of professional experience. Growing up in Whitley County, Kentucky, he attended elementary school in a rural one-room schoolhouse and skipped two grades, graduating from high school at the age of 16. In 1969, he attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in international affairs. Soon thereafter, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the School of Law at New York University in 1973. Subsequently, he attended the prestigious Harvard University, where he received a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School in 1981. After making profound strides in his field, he was presented with an honorary doctorate in public administration from the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in 2010.

An attorney at the Mike Rose Law Firm, PC, Mr. Rose has been a senator of District 38 with the South Carolina Senate since 1988 and was a delegate for the State of South Carolina to the National Republican Party Convention in 2016. In addition, he was the founder and executive director of the Adopt-A-Cow Program and the Farmers Assistance Relief Mission, Inc., from 1986 to 1994, which distributed seed and hay to farmers to rescue their herds after a drought. Passionate about his community, he is also active with the Bethany United Methodist Church.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to law, government and his community, Mr. Rose has accrued a plethora of accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association for Uniformed Services in 1994, he also received the Friend of Taxpayer Award from the South Carolina Taxpayers Association and the Leadership with Ethics Reform Award from Common Cause in 1991. An AV-Rated Attorney through Martindale-Hubbell, he received the Order of the Palmetto from Governor Carroll A. Campbell Jr. and the Winner of Uhlmann Award from the Harvard Business School in 1981. Notably, the U.S. Air Force presented him with the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1990.
