Robert Fiske, Senior Counsel at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.

Amassing more than 60 years of professional experience, Mr. Fiske has been serving as senior counsel at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP since 2011, having previously acted as partner from 1964 to 2010 and associate from 1961 to 1964. Alongside these positions, he was an independent counsel for the Whitewater Investigation in Little Rock, AR, in 1994, an attorney with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1976 to 1980, and an assistant attorney with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1957 to 1961. In addition, he has been a member of the Independent Commission on New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform since 2016.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Fiske attended Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1952. He subsequently attended the University of Michigan Law School, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1955. After making strides in his field, he earned honorary doctorates from the University of Michigan Law School and Vermont Law School in 1997 and 2005, respectively. Mr. Fiske has been admitted to practice law in the states of New York and Michigan, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

A fellow and former president of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Fiske has accrued numerous accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from The American Lawyer magazine in 2008, he was presented with the Lewis Powell Junior Award for Professionalism and Ethics from the American Inns of Court in 2016 and the Inaugural Distinguished Alumni Award from University of Michigan Law School in 2011. Mr. Fiske was also honored with the Fordham-Stein Prize from the New York City Bar Association in 2007 and the Emory Buckner Medal from the Federal Bar Council in 1987. Notably, he has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in the World.
