C. Peter Theut, founder and CEO of China Bridge, LLC and cofounder and CEO of Global Bridges Network LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in international law and consulting.
Mr. Theut fulfills his vision to provide clients with the ability to identify and successfully connect with Asian companies inbound to the US and US companies outbound to Asia with China Bridge, which he has lead since 2013. With the Global Bridges Network, Mr. Theut assists clients with their business in China, Africa, Korea, Russia, South America, Scandinavia, Mexico, Israel and India. In this venture, he has become well known for his work in negotiating and documenting complex China-related transactions, providing counsel with respect to capital structure, operating control, governance and related issues. Prior to helping establish these organizations, he was a partner with Butzel Long from 1988 to 2013, with Hill Lewis from 1980 to 1988, with Theut & Schellig from 1972 to 1980, and with Foster, Meadows & Ballard from 1968 to 1972. Earlier in his career, Mr. Theut was an associate with Overton, Lyman & Prince from 1963 to 1967. In his career, he has been set apart by establishing business models that serve as ‘single points of reference’ for a broad range of legal and consulting services essential to achieving success and personal satisfaction in a rapidly changing global marketplace.
Mr. Theut began his career as a student at the University of Michigan, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1960 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1963. He has been admitted to practice in the states of Michigan and California, as well as in before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Southern District of Ohio. For his achievement in the field, Mr. Theut has been named a Michigan Super Lawyer, and the Marine Lenders Industry presented him a William B. Auto Industry Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Marine Lending Community. He is the past chairman and founder of the Recreational Boating Law Committee of the Maritime Law Association. Mr. Theut feels that his marriage, four children and nine grandchildren have been a great factor to his success.
