Michael E. O’Connor, Of Counsel with Costello Cooney & Fearon PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trust and estate law.

With more than 40 years of professional experience, Mr. O’Connor has served as partner and of counsel with Costello Cooney & Fearon PLLC and its predecessor firm, DeLaney & O’Connor LLP, since 1994. In addition, he has held the role of adjunct professor at Cornell University since 2015. Prior to joining his current firm, he was a partner with Hancock Estabrook LLP from 1990 to 1994 and a partner with Coulter, Fraser, Bolton, Bird, & Ventre from 1981 to 1990, having been an associate with the firm since 1975.

Mr. O’Connor was inspired to pursue a career in the legal industry from an early age, having read about what lawyers do on a daily basis and deciding that it was what he wanted to do. He began his career as a student at Cayuga Community College, obtaining an Associate of Arts in 1968. He then joined the University of Buffalo, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1970, subsequently earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Syracuse University in 1974.

In recognition of his exceptional achievements, Mr. O’Conner has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America. He has also been named an Industry Leader in 2018. Looking toward the future, Mr. O’Connor intends on continuing to practice law with an emphasis on reducing his involvement in the field.
