He joined the firm in 1995, when it was Iliff & Meredith, P.C., as an associate, and became a shareholder in 2003. Now, Mr. Brennan serves as a managing shareholder with experience in professional liability defense, civil actions, disciplinary matters, and insurance coverage. His first hands-on position was as an associate with Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, which he held from 1994 to 1995.
Mr. Brennan prepared for his endeavors by earning a JD from the Francis King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland in 1992 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Diego in 1986. He has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals District of Columbia Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He is a member of such professional organizations as the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Center for Professional Responsibility, and the Lawyers Professional Liability Consortium of the American Bar Association. He has also conducted continuing legal education presentations relating to attorney competence, conflicts, communications, and cyber security, and authored articles on related subjects.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Brennan was named among the Best Lawyers in America by U.S. News and World Report in 2018 and to Maryland SuperLawyers in 2014. He also holds an AV-Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
In his spare time, Mr. Brennan enjoys traveling, reading, boating, fishing, and forestry. He also likes to be involved in his community; previous engagements include as a mentor of the Maryland Professionalism Center, Inc., and member of the St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and the Wharton County Junior College.
