A renowned figure in the legal industry, Mr. Grassia has amassed nearly 50 years of professional excellence in his areas of focus. An attorney in private practice since 2012, he held several roles prior to founding his firm, including as partner of Grassia, Murphy & Lupan, PA, from 2002 to 2012, partner of Grassia, Murphy & Whitney, PA, from 1998 to 2002, partner of Grassia & Associates, PA, from 1985 to 1998, and partner of D’Angio & Grassia from 1974 to 1985. He commenced his career as a partner of PTS Computer Network Services from 1971 to 1981 and assistant vice president of the Plymouth Rubber Group from 1969 to 1971.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Grassia has been involved in a number of civic engagements, including as a member of the Metropolitan Boston Hospital Council from 1983 to 1984, a board selectman in Sherborn, MA, from 1981 to 1985, and a member of the Leonard Morse Hospital Medical Advisory Board of MetroWest Medical Center from 1981 to 1984. Formerly on the board of health in Sherborn from 1986 to 1981, he was also a member and team leader of the Fire and Rescue Department in Sherborn from 1974 to 2000. He has further been a part of the emergency medical committee, long planning committee of the school board, and police chief selection committee.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Grassia first pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University in 1968 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Suffolk University Law School in 1974. He has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of the District of Massachusetts since 1976 and the Supreme Court of the United States since 1980.
A leading voice in his fields of interest, Mr. Grassia has maintained membership with several organizations. The chair of the board of advisors in the Framingham Corps Community Center with the Massachusetts division of the Salvation Army from 2008 to 2013, he was also a member of the commercial arbitration board with the American Arbitration Association and the president and chair of the board of directors of the New England Helicopter Pilots Association. Furthermore, he is a longstanding member of the American Bar Association, the New England Speakers Bureau, the Massachusetts Conveyancer Association, and Helicopter Association International.
In recognition of his exceptional achievements in civic service, Mr. Grassia was honored with the Augusta Community Service Award from Helicopter Association International in 2003. In addition, he has been selected for inclusion into several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World. An enthusiast of photography, hockey, and bicycling, he has been married to his wife Judith since 1970 and has two children.
