A celebrated figure in the legal industry with more than 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Meyer has served as partner at Givens Pursley in Boise, ID, since 1991. In this position, he specializes in administrative and regulatory law, environmental law, litigation, natural resources, real estate and land use, road and access law, and water rights. Prior to this appointment, he held the role of associate professor at the University of Colorado Law School, teaching water law and negotiation. He also acted as counsel with the water resources program at the National Wildlife Federation in the early 1980s.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics, magna cum laude, in 1977 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 1981 from the University of Michigan, Mr. Meyer has been admitted to practice in Colorado, Idaho, and Washington, DC, as well as before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
In recognition of his exceptional achievements in law, Mr. Meyer was named among the Best Lawyers in America every year since 2007 in the areas of water law, land use and zoning law, natural resources, and environmental law. He has also been named among the Mountain States Super Lawyers every year since 2007 in the areas of energy and natural resources law, land use and zoning law, and environmental law.
