Amassing more than 15 years of professional excellence in the field of law, Mr. Ellwanger has been the managing partner of Ellwanger Law LLP since 2017, having previously served as a partner of Dinovo, Ellwanger & Hardy LLP from 2006 to 2017 and an associate of Jenkens & Gilchrist, PC, from 2001 to 2007. Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Ellwanger also holds the role of adjunct professor at the School of Law at the University of Texas at Austin, a position he has fulfilled since 2003.

Desiring to fulfill a lifelong goal of honoring his family’s history by establishing a law firm dedicated to the eradication of discrimination and defense of civil rights, Mr. Ellwanger pursued an education at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1998 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2001. A respected figure in his field, he was an invited speaker at the 43rd Annual DeWitty/Overton Freedom Fund Banquet for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 2008 and coauthor of “Ten Patent Litigation Questions for Texas District Court Judges” by the intellectual property legislation committee of the State Bar of Texas in 2009.

In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Ellwanger has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. The recipient of the American College of Trial Lawyers Award every year since 2001, he was honored as a Super Lawyer from 2013 to 2016 and a Texas Rising Star in the Area of Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation by Texas Monthly Magazine from 2007 to 2017. In addition, he won First Place at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Tournament of Champions in 2000 and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award in 2001.
