An esteemed figure in the field of law, Mr. Morrow has more than 40 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. A founder and senior partner of Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett & Haik since 1975, his practice specializes in personal injuries in such areas as automobile and trucking accidents, offshore injuries, diving accidents, railroad accidents, medical malpractice, toxic torts, products liability, and class actions. Mr. Morrow also practices within negligence, environmental law litigation, wrongful death, and workers’ compensation claims.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Morrow pursued a formal education at Louisiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in government in 1969 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1972. Admitted to practice law in the state of Louisiana, he has also been admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Louisiana Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Morrow has participated in a number of civic engagements, including as the founder of the Annual Scholarships Local High School Seniors since 2014, on the board of trustees of the Opelousas General Health System since 2011, and a member of Hospital Service District No. 2 at St. Landry Parish since 2011. Previously, he was the commissioner of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries from 2005 to 2011, chair of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in 2008, and judge pro tempore for the 27th Judicial District Court in 1995. In addition, he participated on the advisory committee of the Crowne Parc Development District and class action committee of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
The coauthor of “Images of America, St. Landry Parish” in 2013, Mr. Morrow maintains affiliation with several industry-related organizations in his areas of interest. On the board of governors of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association since 1987, he is also a member of the Lafayette Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Notably, he has maintained fellowships with the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, the American Bar Association, the American Inn of Court, and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Morrow has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. Named a Louisiana Super Lawyer in Law and Politics every year since 2008, he was also named Top Rated Lawyer in Mass Tort Law and among America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators in 2017. Considered one of America’s Top 100 Attorneys in 2017, he won the Stalwart Award from the Louisiana Association for Justice in 2016, the Leaders in Philanthropy Award from St. Landry Parish in 2015, and Citizen of the Year from the Elks Club in 2011. Among his other noteworthy achievements, Mr. Morrow has also maintained an AV Rating with Martindale-Hubbell and a Lifetime Achievement Membership with America’s Top 100 Attorneys.
Married to Mary Alice Palazzo since 1967, Mr. Morrow is the proud father of three children and grandfather of nine grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys duck hunting.
