Carmine Zarlenga, JD, Partner at Mayer Brown LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal industry.
Amassing 25 years of professional experience in the field of law, Mr. Zarlenga has been serving as partner of Mayer Brown LLP since 2011, having previously been partner of Howrey & Simon from 1993 to 2011. In his position, Mr. Zarlenga focuses his practice on agribusiness, intellectual property, litigation and dispute resolution, product liability and mass torts, food and beverage industry class actions, trial litigation, white collar defense and compliance, social media law, and transportation, among several other practice areas.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Zarlenga pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science, cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 1981. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the College of Law at the University of Cincinnati in 1984. He has since been admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Ohio, as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First, Sixth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Zarlenga has participated in a number of civic engagements, including as a member of the board of directors of Homestretch, Inc., from 2004 to 2014. In addition, he is a member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review Alumni Board and the regional director of United Way Worldwide. During his academic pursuits, he served as the editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review from 1982 to 1983, and later on in his career, he was a member of the editorial board for Franchise Law Bibliography from 1991 to 1993. As such, in an effort to remain abreast of recent changes within his fields of interest, Mr. Zarlenga maintains affiliation with the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Zarlenga has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. Named among the Best Lawyers in America by SuperLawyers in 2012, 2014, and 2017, he was also named a Client Service All-Star by BTI in 2016. A Litigation Star as coined by Benchmark in 2016, he was also honored with the Bryan Prize by The Ohio State University in 1981. He has been highlighted in the sixth and ninth editions of Who’s Who in American Law.
