Mr. Wittels entered his profession because he saw earning a law degree as an opportunity to do lots of different things. The path he took was one he originally didn’t start out on. He emerged as a criminal trial lawyer. Since 2013, he has been a partner at the Philadelphia Inns Court. In addition, he is a member and vice president of the East Falls Community Council. Since 2003, Mr. Wittels has provided his services as a partner for LaCheen Wittels & Greenberg. He has worked for the firm under previous names since 1980. Earlier in his career, he worked as an assistant defender with the Defender Association of Philadelphia and as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanley Kubacki for the Court of Common Please. Since 2016, Mr. Wittels has been a guest lecturer on law and society at Philadelphia University. He has also advised the Temple University Parliamentary Debate Team.
Mr. Wittels first earned a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University, cum laude, in 1970. He continued at Boston University, receiving a Master of Arts in political science in 1972. Following this, he earned a JD at the institution in 1975. In his career, he has maintained affiliation with the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the and Philadelphia Bar Foundation.
