Focusing his practice in the areas of commercial and complex civil litigation, construction litigation, personal injury, family law, estate dispute litigation, and criminal defense, he has extensive experience in both state and federal court. Alongside his primary endeavors, he has also been appointed and served as an arbitrator and umpire before the Massachusetts Superior Court. Mr. Aceto has additionally served his community in a number of civic engagements as head of finance and board member for the Wayside Youth and Family Support Network since 2016. He was formerly a board chair for the association from 2012 to 2016.
To prepare for his celebrated career, Mr. Aceto pursued a formal education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in political science, cum laude, from Boston College in 1987. He went on to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Law School at Vanderbilt University in 1990. During his law studies, he was elected an Elliott E. Cheatham Scholar. He has since been admitted to practice by the Massachusetts Bar Association and the State Bar of California, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
A member of the Boston Bar Association since 2000, Mr. Aceto has been a prolific author, penning “Kolodziej v. Smith: An Employee’s Right to a Secular Workplace” in the Boston Bar Journal in 1993 and “Criminal Sanctions for Corporate Tortious Acts, For The Defense” in 1991. In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, he was named to National Top 100 Trial Lawyers every year from 2014 to 2017 and Super Lawyers of Massachusetts every year from 2011 to 2017.
