Inspired to pursue a career in the legal industry by his attorney father, Mr. Ziegler decided at a young age that he wanted to follow in his footsteps. He worked toward his goal by first earning a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1992. He has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Supreme Court, and the state of New York. Mr. Ziegler found his place in the field when he joined Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano LLP as a senior partner and attorney in 1997. In this position, he focuses on worker’s compensation, social security disability, civil service pension, and personal injury. Additionally, he is the chair of the firm’s Civil Service Disability Retirement Pension Department.
In addition to his work in the field, Mr. Ziegler is an adjunct professor at the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, and he is the author of “The Little Textbook of Workers Comp.” He has been a contributor to various union publications, and as an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Other notable memberships include the National Association of Police Organizations, the New York Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health, the New York State Bar Association, ABA, the World Trade Center Council Advisory Commission, and the Eastern Long Island Police Pipes and Drums Marching Band. He is general counsel for SCPBA, counsel for the Suffolk County Police Columbia Association, the Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society, and NYSFOP Suffolk County Lodge 124, Inc., and disability counsel for the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association. Further, Mr. Ziegler is involved in occupational and environmental medicine clinics on workers’ compensation at the Bellevue Hospital Center at NYU School of Medicine and on the Board of Occupational and Environmental Medicine on Long Island at the Northwell North Shore-LIJ Health System. His efforts have been celebrated with such accolades as the Stetson Award from the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers, the Robert Briscoe Award from the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, and recognition in the workers’ compensation area of Super Lawyers.
