Ms. Pentcheva has also been acting as a registered patent attorney with Westman, Champlin & Koehler, PA, since October 2010, where she prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the electrical and mechanical arts.
Highly educated in a diverse spectrum of fields, Ms. Pentcheva commenced her career as a student at the University of Saint Thomas, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and political science, magna cum laude, in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, magna cum laude, in 2008. She then studied at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010. Ms. Pentcheva is currently pursuing a Master of Laws in intellectual property law from the George Washington University Law School. She has been admitted to practice by the Minnesota State Bar as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Supreme Court.
A fellow of the American Bar Foundation, Ms. Pentcheva has been honored with several accolades throughout her career. Lawyers of Distinction named her among the Top 10 Percent of IP Lawyers in the United States in 2017, and she was presented with the Committee Leader Award by the intellectual property section of the American Bar Association. Notably, she has been selected for inclusion into Strathmore’s Who’s Who in 2017, and she was given the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
