A celebrated figure in the field of law, Mr. Walker has accrued nearly 50 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. A principal of Walker, Wright & Associates since 2014, Mr. Walker formerly served as principal of Walker & Associate Centennial from 2010 to 2013, partner with Mustain-Wood, Walker & Schumacher from 1985 to 2010, and of counsel with Cox, Mustain-Wood, Walker & Schumacher from 1985 to 2010. In his current position, Mr. Walker specializes in family law; particularly, divorce, child custody, legal counseling, appeals, and marital agreements.
Alongside his career as an attorney, Mr. Walker served as a professor at the University of Denver from 1975 to 1999, earning the title of professor emeritus upon his retirement from teaching. Earlier in his career, he served as associate professor at the University of Denver and the Indianapolis Law School at Indiana University in the 1970s, preceded by his role as an assistant professor of law at the University of the Pacific in the late 1960s. Furthermore, he was a consultant and lecturer in the field from 1975 to 1976.
In preparation for his illustrious career, Mr. Walker sought out a formal education, first earning a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1962. He subsequently received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, from the University of Denver in 1967, followed by a Master of Arts in sociology from the same academic institute in 1969. He has since been admitted by the Indiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Colorado Bar Association.
In addition, Mr. Walker has contributed articles to professional journals, lectured during annual presentations, and served as editor-in-chief and editor of several publications, including “Family Law Quarterly” and “Denver Law Journal.” He was also on the board of editors for “Family Advocate,” published by the American Bar Association. He has maintained affiliation with several industry-related organizations, including having held several roles with the American Bar Association, such as on the board of governors, in the House of Delegates, in the Child Custody Task Force, in the Maintenance and Support Committee, and as chair of the Family Law Section. Furthermore, he has been deemed a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Sociological Association, and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, Mr. Walker has been presented with several accolades throughout his impressive career. He was a grantee of the Colorado Bar Association for 1975-1976 and the recipient of the Award for Merit by the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. Furthermore, he was named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who in 2017.
